A new standard

With a fresh new site that looks outrageously good, Viva Sounds is gearing up for its 8th edition. Big love to the team at Spöket for making us look better than ever – now the festival has to catch up.

Eight years ago, we launched what would become Viva Sounds. The idea was simple: can we bring music-minded people in Gothenburg together for shows and conversations, all packed into a single day? With the help of generous friends we pulled off four panels and seven gigs – at Oceanen and Fyrens Ölkafé, back when it was still Bengans Fik. We called it Viva GBVG – a name no one really liked, or understood, but it was fun and it worked pretty ok.

In 2018, the name changed to Viva Sounds, and every year since, the festival has grown – bit by bit, person by person – into something we’re genuinely proud of. And now, we’ve got a new website to prove it.

The new site, built by the brilliant team at Spöket, is nothing short of spectacular. Clean, sharp, smooth – it’s the kind of site that makes you proud, a little bit nervous and now the festival needs to level up to match how good it looks. Viva Sounds returns November 27–29, and it’s going to be a ride. Just like always – a mix of hope, energy, despair and the constant feeling that it could all fall apart anytime. And maybe it will, but hopefully, not for another eight years. Tickets are LIVE.
