SPIT IT OUT

We're back again. We know what it means and you should know what it means. SPOT Festival in Aarhus, Denmark. Three bands at HeadQuarters and usually a packed room well in advance before the first band is on stage. Here's what's up:

Mud Grief, 16.00 @ HeadQuarters

A fusion of raw intensity, thundering guitars, and razor-sharp melodies—or an uncompromising mess infused with style and finesse—Mud Grief delivers energetic and explosive noise from Gothenburg, Sweden. With a dynamic and high-energy soundscape, Mud Grief creates an electrifying atmosphere that keeps audiences moving. In late 2024, the band signed with Welfare Sounds, carrying the momentum into 2025, starting with a show in Berlin. This spring, Mud Grief will release several singles, all building toward their debut album, scheduled for release in September. They aim to pair the album launch with a tour, confident that their intense live performances make them a perfect fit for any stage.

Synvilla, 17.00 @ HeadQuarters

Synvilla delivers heavy psychedelic rock, balancing between stoner & doom and high-energy rock. Based in Gothenburg, they released the album ‘Feberfoster’ on February 28th, a spellbinding fusion of surrealism and everyday realism, where atmospheric riffs share space with subtle humor. With ‘Feberfoster’, the band lets their dark and experimental vein flow freely, taking you on a journey through a pitch-black desert where biting riffs and fever-dream-like melodies chase you into a pulsating ambient oasis. With a distinct groove and eerie, ghostly tones, psychedelic rock, doom, and stoner merge into a unique sound that defines Synvilla.

Styva Linan, 18.00 @ HeadQuarters

Styva Linan made a grand entrance onto the Swedish music scene in the fall of 2022 with their acclaimed debut album ‘Dallas’. Their raw yet skillful portrayal of reality was embraced with open arms, leading to TV appearances and sold-out shows. Their unique blend of indie and prog struck a chord with nostalgic listeners while also becoming a defining part of the new wave of traditional bands reclaiming the stage. Alongside a growing fan base, their reputation as a sharp live act has kept them touring nonstop across the Nordics. In 2024, they released their self-titled album ‘Styva Linan’, celebrated with packed shows in Gothenburg, Malmö, Stockholm, and Oslo. Denmark up next!
